About
Grounded advice for the return after leave or a longer pause
Smartdevconnect helps people in Germany re-enter paid work with plans that survive daycare schedules, employer realities, and the first ninety days back.
Origin
The practice began in Aschaffenburg after years of watching strong professionals stumble not on skill, but on timing — leave end dates colliding with vacancy cycles, Teilzeit requests made too late, and Lebensläufe that hid Elternzeit as if it were a liability.
Smartdevconnect focuses on employment consulting for that specific hinge: parents returning from parental leave and people restarting after caregiving or another career break. We stay close to German workplace norms — Betriebsrat conversations, phased returns, application portals — without pretending every case looks the same.
How we work
Sessions are conversational and document-heavy. You leave with written next steps, not a vague sense of motivation. We will name constraints aloud: childcare hours, commuting limits, and financial pressure to accept the first offer.
We do not place candidates for a fee or negotiate contracts as legal counsel. Our role is planning, rehearsal, and clear materials so you can speak for yourself with employers and recruiters.
Values we hold in sessions
- Honesty about hours you can sustain after month three
- Respect for caregiving years as real experience, without inflating them
- Plans written in plain language a partner or HR contact can follow
- No pressure to buy packages you do not need
Where we meet
In-person sessions in Aschaffenburg, Freistaat Bayern, and video sessions for clients elsewhere in Germany. Response time is typically one business day.
